How to Prepare Children for a Trip to Disney World

February 2, 2020 by Jaime

There are many reasons to pack up the car, head to the airport, and take your kids to Disney World, one of the most magical places on the planet. However, while it is truly magical, it can also be a big disaster if you and your kids aren’t prepared for the experience.

One of the best ways to go about this is by letting your kids help you prepare for the big weekend. In this blog, you’ll find a few of the best ways to prepare yourself and your kids for the trip and the fun ahead. Ready? Then, let’s get started, shall we?

Bring Or Rent A Stroller

You’re going to want a stroller if you have toddlers or little ones. The park is big and the excitement can be a bit overwhelming, making little ones tired faster than it normally would. If you’re flying in and don’t have a stroller of your own, try out a Disney stroller rental instead. The strollers are reasonably priced and will save you from having to carry the kids for most of your visit.

Don’t Forget The Pictures

It’s truly no fun to get home from your trip only to find that your pictures didn’t save to your camera or Smartphone or run out of room in the middle of your visit. You can prevent this by using Meet ibi to load your photos and even to share them with family and friends. This is the perfect way to ensure your photos are shared and kept safe while you’re on vacation. After all, Disney World is about having fun, but it’s also about creating memories.

The More They Know, The Better

Your kids are going to be beyond excited when they find out about the trip and excited kids ask a ton of questions. In this case, the more they know the better it is for all of you. Watch the Disney Vacation Planning video with your kids, read all the books you can find, and visit the website so they know what is happening and what they have to look forward to. It’s also important to remember that kid’s memories aren’t near as developed as adults are, so they will probably want to watch the videos over and over again and read the books 100 times before the trip. Indulge them! That’s part of the fun, and you’ll be glad you did!

Be Prepared For Cranky

While it’s fun to imagine that the entire trip will be magical and calming. While it will be both, you need to be prepared for cranky and tired children at the end of the day. The excitement can be as tiring as walking around the park can be. Make provisions for your children being cranky and tired, such as eating in the room for dinner, or early nights to bed so they are refreshed and ready to take on the world of Disney the next morning. Getting to bed early is always better for the kids, and it gives you a chance to relax and unwind before bed as well.

Know Each Kid Will React Differently

Every child reacts differently to the rides, characters, and other attractions at Disney World. You might have a child that is thrilled by the characters and another that is terrified of Mickey Mouse. Be prepared to deal with their reactions either way and you will all have a good time in the long run.

These are just a few of the top ways that you can prepare your children for a trip to Disney World. Remember, it is a magical trip if you’re well-prepared for it.
