Why having an Ultrawide Screen can Benefit and Increase Work Performance

May 11, 2020 by Jaime

With the advent of remote working technology, the screen is the workplace of the future. Even when you are at the office, most of your work is on a computer or a tablet. A monitor or a screen is, therefore, a window to all your work, and having a better and broader window gives you a better understanding of the view it encompasses. It is common to see professionals working on 2 or 3 screens lined up together at their desks, each performing a different task or monitoring a different statistic.

An ultrawide screen is a replacement for the many different screens at your workplace, incorporating all into a single, more efficient setup. If you are not already using widescreen for your work, then it is time to look into buying one. Top electronics providers are producing a variety of ultrawide screens; you can learn about Samsung, LG, Alienware, and other top brands by comparing their features and prices.

The difference between widescreen and ultrawide screen

A widescreen is what you would typically find at electronic stores with aspect ratios in the range of 16:9 of 16:10. Widescreens have been in the market for a long time now, and their design reflects everyday use when putting them in a living room space or a bedroom. Widescreens are suitable for watching movies, cable, and playing games.

Ultrawide screens, on the other hand, have aspect ratios of 21:9 or higher. In this ratio, 21 represents the width of the screen, while 9 is its height. It does not mean that the screen will be 9 inches tall; the ratio is the display proportion of the screen, meaning that if the height is, for example, 18 inches, then the width of such a screen would be 42 inches – sticking to the 21:9 ratios. Ultrawide screens, therefore, are two times as broad as widescreens with the same height.

Work Benefits

Ultrawide screens allow you to work simultaneously on multiple projects using one single system. The latest windows have in-built support for Ultrawide screens, and you do not need any additional software to make it work with your existing setup. Now forget the hassle of looking into different screens and copying data or statistics from one to the other. In an ultrawide TV, all of your work is side by side; you could be working on developing a website, managing a marketing campaign for some clients, playing Minecraft and watching YouTube videos all in the same place. Widescreens result in having increased productivity and efficiency; the time you save by this can be spent with your family, reading a book, or even working more if you are into that kind of stuff.

Curved or Flat

Ultrawide screens come in two different designs, a curved and a flat one. Depending on the type of work environment they will be put in, both are good choices. Curved screens provide you with a 180-degree view when you are sitting close to the screen. These are ideal when you have an ultrawide display on your workstation or desktop.

Flat screens, on the other hand, are suitable when you are sitting at a distance from the screen. They provide you with a quick analysis of graphs and charts together on a single screen.
