The Most Obscure Travel Locations Most People Have Never Been To

March 29, 2020 by Jaime

Besides traveling for relaxation, there are those who are passionate about traveling to quench the thirst of their curiosity. However, often, many people will travel to more popular cities as opposed to exploring new undiscovered regions of the earth. There is just so much to see and learn in voyaging the earth. Here are a few obscure places that are yet to be discovered:

Remote and amazing islands

Islands are incredibly spectacular due to their coral reefs, sandy beaches, and radiant sunsets as well as their unique species. Besides their magnificence, there are some islands that are well hidden and not many have explored these areas. The earth has so many islands on its water bodies. Some are common and easily accessible while others are inaccessible and inhabitable. You can get some of the details for these islands from Lottoland ‘s article on remote islands.

Socotra Island

Socotra Island in Yemen is a region that was cut off from the African mainland. It is characterized by unique bio-diversity which includes bizarre plants and trees not found in any other region of the earth such as the bulbous tree and twisted dragon’s blood tree.

Trista da Cunha group of islands

If you are looking for an exploration, you could consider going to one of the well-hidden islands. The Trista da Cunha group of islands is found in South Atlantic. Although these islands are inhabitable, it is possible to take a trip to and from the island

Crete

If you are looking for a relaxing and calm destination that is traveled by few, then, Crete is a great place to visit. It has one of the largest islands of Greece with crystal clear water and jaw-dropping mountains. It also has a number of canyons and gorges.

Other stunning islands include Bali in Indonesia as well as Fiji that has 332 islands

Mountains and Volcanic Scenery

Besides the high rising features caused by volcanic materials, there are various structures that are also formed. Some of these areas include.

Hills of Bohol

In Bohol Island, the Philippines, the Chocolate Hills of Bohol are found. These Hills are neat conical hills in the middle of the island. They may be of various heights but have regular shapes. However, these hills can only be known as chocolate during the dry season when the foliage dries out.

Northern Ireland Polygon Volcanoes

At times, nature can be very intentional with the sudden occurrences that it undergoes. For instance, 60million years ago, a volcanic eruption spewed out molten basalt that solidified in polygon-shaped columns. This scenery at the Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland has more than 37,000 polygon columns

Tianzi Mountains

In Hunan Province, China, there are amazingly unique-looking limestone pinnacles known as the Tianzi Mountains. These pinnacles are covered in lavish green vegetation and often masked in mist. The scenery looks similar to that in the movie Avatar.

Amazing Water Bodies

When considering water bodies, these include water travertines, lakes and even springs that come out and amaze the world with immense finery.

Bermuda Triangle

Some areas connected with water have inimitable features. One such region is the 500,000square miles between Florida and Puerto Rico famously known as the Bermuda Triangle. Despite the undertakings in the area, the local coastguards refute that an area of such a high magnetic force exists. This area is known for its disappearing ships and planes but no one dares to visit.

Lake Hillier

Often known as the pink lake, Lake Hillier is a lake with algae known as Dunaliella Salina and a pink bacteria, Halobacteria. These two properties are responsible for maintaining the color of the lake all year round. This lake is found in Western Australia and was discovered in 1802.

The Pamukkale

The Pamukkale (Cotton Palace) in Turkey is a spectacular site that utilizes the ruins of Hierapolis. Water from natural springs flow down the white travertine terraces to form amazing thermal pools

Other stunning water body features include Thor’s Well in Oregon, the Grand Prismatic Spring in the USA, Blood Falls in Antarctica, and the Spotted Lake in British Columbia among others.

These are just but a few features that are yet to be explored deeply and enjoyed by tourists all over the world. The earth is a breath-taking place and it surely does need more people willing to explore and discover even more attractive and exceptional geographies.
