The 6 Benefits of Drinking Warm Beverages

November 14, 2022 by Jaime

Do you slurp a cup of tea every workday afternoon? Or, can you not go a morning without your trusty cup of coffee? If so, good news – you could be doing your mind and body a world of good. If you’re interested in learning how your daily warm beverage is beneficial, here are six reasons.

1: The Great Taste

You probably know this one already, but it’s worth mentioning. Experiencing great taste should never be underestimated, after all! When you need a little treat in the day, that cup of early grey or hot chocolate can be enough to make you feel amazing.

If you’ve not yet found a hot chocolate that tempts your tastebuds, consider hot chocolate bombs. These delightful chocolate bombs melt in a mug of milk to make way for a delicious, warming cup of hot chocolate. It’s better than the instant stuff! Plus, it’s perfect for a pre-bed supper that tastes great while making you sleepy. Whether for yourself or your little ones, they make the ideal tasty hot beverage.

2: The Health Benefits

As well as a great taste, many warm beverages also provide health benefits! Tea is the best when it comes to promoting good health. Different types of teas offer various health benefits. For example, green tea contains vitamin C, while rooibos tea can lead to a healthier heart.

Are you interested in trying a highly nutritious tea? If so, try jasmine tea. It is packed to the brim with antioxidants and can boost cognitive function and protect your heart’s health!

3: Keeps the Cold Away

One of the best parts about sipping a hot beverage is that it keeps you warm. Whether you have a flask full of tea on your morning walk or you’re keeping toasty after a day at work, a mug of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate is the perfect way to warm the entire body. It’s cheaper than putting the heating on, too!

4: Extra Hydration

Many people are dehydrated without knowing it. While the best way to stay hydrated is to drink water, warm beverages still contribute to hydration. Just keep in mind that some are better for hydration than others. Generally, non-caffeinated teas are the best for upping your fluid intake.

5: Potential Weight Loss

Did you know that drinking warm beverages can promote weight loss? That’s because a warm drink will make you feel full, even if you’ve only consumed a few calories. For example, you could drink a cup of green tea and feel satisfied despite it only containing two calories!

Of course, low-calorie warm beverages are better for weight loss. Creamy hot chocolate likely won’t help you reach your weight loss goals, although it will taste delicious! It’s all about moderation.

6: Utter Relaxation

A delicious mug of hot chocolate or chamomile tea will make anyone feel relaxed, even after the most stressful days. So, boil some water, make your warm drink, sit back, and enjoy some much-needed calm while you take in the delicious goodness. You will certainly sleep better for it!

4 Long Flight Essentials

October 25, 2022 by Jaime

Even people who have never boarded a long flight know how frustrating an ordeal it can be. From the cramped quarters to the poor movie options, there’s a lot about flying that can wear on even the most patient person. But with a little preparation, you can make your long flight much more bearable.

Here are four essentials you’ll want to bring on board with you next time you’re facing a long haul.

A Good Neck Pillow

One of the biggest challenges of long flights is getting comfortable enough to actually sleep. Especially if you’re not used to sleeping in small spaces, it can be tough to drift off on an airplane. But with a good neck pillow, you can get more support and find a sleeping position that’s actually comfortable.

Luckily, there are lots of different types of neck pillows on the market, each with its own appeal.

For example, the Cabeau Evolution Pillow is designed to give you 360-degree support, no matter how you like to sleep. And the U-shaped Bcozzy pillow is built specifically to keep your head from falling forward when you doze off. Or, if you want something a little more low-key, consider a traditional pillowcase filled with microbeads, like the Trtl Pillow.

A Good Book

There’s nothing quite like getting lost in a good book to pass the time on a long flight. And you want to make sure you choose the right book.

Look for something engrossing but not too dense, so you can easily put it down and pick it back up again as needed. A classic novel or an interesting non-fiction book can both be great choices for long-haul flights. There are millions of choices – fantasy novels about faeries, medical texts about dementia care, autobiographies of famous figures- the list is endless.

A Pair of Noise-Cancelling Headphones

There are all sorts of noises on a flight – from the rumble of the engines to the chatter of your fellow passengers – that can make it hard to concentrate or relax. With a good pair of noise-canceling headphones, you can tune out all that background noise and focus on what you want to hear.

There are plenty of different types of noise-canceling headphones on the market. For example, the Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones are one of the most popular options, thanks to their comfortable design and great sound quality. Or, if you’re looking for something a little more budget-friendly, the Mpow H5 noise-canceling headphones are also a great option.

A Portable Charger

There’s nothing worse than having your phone or tablet die in the middle of a long flight. Not only are you stuck with nothing to do, but you also miss out on the chance to stay connected with friends and family or get some work done.

This can all be avoided by packing a portable charger with you.

There are lots of different portable chargers on the market, so you’ll want to choose one that’s right for you. For example, the Anker PowerCore 10000 is a popular option because it’s small and lightweight but still packs a punch when it comes to charging power. Or, if you need something with a little more juice, the RAVPower 26800mAh charger can charge multiple devices at once.

From neck pillows to noise cancelling headphones, these items can help you get more comfortable and make the most of your time in the air. So next time you’re facing a long haul, be sure to bring along some of these must-haves.

3 Tips For Visiting Sand Dunes

October 4, 2022 by Jaime

If you have future plans to visit some sand dunes as part of a vacation, there are a few things you should know before making this trip to help ensure that you and everyone else in your party stays safe and has a great time.

To help you see just what these things are, here are three tips for visiting sand dunes, whether this is your first time on this type of terrain or you consider yourself an old pro.

Protect Your Feet

While you might have visions in your head of walking in sand dunes just like you would with sand on the beach, sand dunes often have a few more dangers that you’ll need to worry about when it comes to going barefoot.

Depending on the time of year that you’re visiting the sand dunes, the sand could be extremely hot during the day. And if this is the case, you’re going to want to wear shoes that will protect your feet, as hot sand can quickly start to burn your skin and really ruin your day. Additionally, you’ll also want to protect your feet from any critters that could be in the sand where you’re visiting. And because you can’t trust that other visitors have taken care of the land as well as you do, you also need to protect your feet from dangers like broken glass or other trash.

Be Safe When Riding The Dunes

One of the reasons you might be headed to some sand dunes in the first place is to ride your side-by-side up and down the dunes. And while this can be very fun for all involved, you’ll want to make sure that you’re being safe to avoid getting hurt.

If you’re not used to riding on sand dunes, maintaining your momentum and getting enough clearance over crests of the dunes will be key. Keep in mind, however, that if there are other riders on the dunes with you, you’ll want to give others a wide berth and keep an eye out for their flags so that you don’t have a collision. And because sand can be hard on these kinds of machines, it’s also wise to have side-by-side replacement parts handy in case you need them.

Prepare For Extreme Weather

While most places state that the weather there can change on a dime, most sand dunes are serious about this claim. In many areas with sand dunes, storms can quickly roll in, high winds can blow, and temperatures can rise and drop rapidly. So before you plan to spend a day out on the dunes, make sure you’re prepared for all kinds of weather.

If you’re going to be visiting some sand dunes soon, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you prepare for a great time.

3 Tips For Keeping Your Hotel Room Clean And Organized

September 13, 2022 by Jaime

For most people, the biggest challenge that comes with traveling is fitting everything you want to take with you into your small piece of luggage. And then once you get to the hotel room at your destination, it seems like everything just explodes out. But when this happens, it’s very easy for your small hotel room to feel extremely messy and disorganized, which can cause you a lot of stress that you might be trying to avoid on your trip.

So to help keep this stress level to a minimum and make it easier for you to find what you need, here are three tips for keeping your hotel room clean and organized.

Give Everything A Place To Stay

Unless you have your luggage perfectly organized on the inside, it’s going to be much easier for you to keep things organized if you take everything out of your bags and give them a place to stay in your hotel room. Especially if you’re staying in your hotel room with other people, having a section of the room where you can put your stuff and other parts of the room where your travel companions can keep their stuff, you’ll be much less likely to have your things get mixed up or lost as well as having everything take over the entire living space of your hotel room.

Use The Space You’re Given

In most hotel rooms, there are options given to you for storage in your room. And while you might not like the idea of taking all of your clothes out of your suitcase and folding them into the drawers that are available, you can still use other spaces that are given to you to help you be more organized.

If your hotel room has a closet, consider keeping your things in there. Especially if there’s a shelf in the closet or hangers that you can use, try taking out some of your items and storing them there so that they’re out of your suitcase and out of your way when you’re in your room.

Don’t Crowd The Counter Space

When staying in a hotel, it’s easy for all of your toiletries to take over the bathroom. However, leaving things all over the countertops can not only make your room feel disorganized, but it can also cause your items to get wet, which can undermine the integrity of the product and make things harder to pack away when you’re ready to check out.

With this in mind, try not to crowd the counter space in the bathroom of your hotel. Once you take something out to use, make sure you put it back in with your other toiletries so that it’s safe and protected as well as properly organized.

If you’ve had a hard time keeping your hotel rooms clean and organized in the past, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you make some changes in the future.

First Time Visiting Las Vegas? Try These 5 Travel Tips For The Perfect Trip

September 12, 2022 by Jaime

As far as cities go, Las Vegas is practically timeless. In a list compiling the happiest travel destinations in the world, Las Vegas counts as one of the best cities — right up there with Barcelona, Budapest, and Amsterdam. The metrics for this list include inclusivity, day trips, and safety. But Vegas offers a lot more than that.

The city is known for its world-class food and entertainment, luxurious hotels, and endless sightseeing. The main tourist attractions are the sprawling casinos of the Strip, whilst Las Vegas’ poker rooms, including the Bellagio, the Venetian, and Wynn Resort, are also some of the best in the world. This makes “Sin City” the perfect trip-of-a-lifetime destination for the lucky tourist.

If you’re visiting Las Vegas for the first time, here are 5 travel tips for you ahead of your journey.

Safety first, second, and last!

With a city as exciting as Las Vegas, it’s easy to let your guard down. However, the last thing you need is to lose important items on a trip.

Our article ‘Travel Tips – 4 Ways to Secure Your Hotel Room’ suggests simple measures you can take to avoid this inconvenience. Precautions like using a door wedge, getting portable door locks, or using a chair can protect you from theft.

Book your tickets in advance

Looking for world-class entertainment? Vegas is the place. Having been a familiar haunt for legends like Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley, the city continues to be frequented by the world’s biggest stars today. It’s also the home of numerous Cirque du Soleil shows like ‘O’ and ‘Ka’.

If there’s a show you’re planning to see in Vegas, don’t wait for it to get sold out. Never underestimate just how quickly tickets run out, and make sure you book yours in advance.

Day trips are a must

Las Vegas is packed to the brim with unique sights, but it can’t hurt to take a day trip out of the city to see some of America’s most iconic landmarks. With just a couple of hours’ drive from Vegas, you can already reach sites like the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and Joshua Tree National Park. Of course, the most recognizable of these landmarks is none other than the world-famous Grand Canyon. It’s a life-changing bucket-list staple, and its immensity can’t be encapsulated in words.

You can either join a day tour or rent a car and explore the Grand Canyon and other sights at your leisure.

Don’t forget your ID

One very big mistake you could be making when in Vegas is forgetting your ID. While the city is known for its extravagance and vice, failing to carry ID with you could mean missing out on a night of fun. This is because many establishments ask for ID when admitting guests or when scanning your credit cards for payments.

Keep a photocopy of your passport, driver’s license, and other IDs. They may not be acceptable for buying alcohol, claiming casino winnings, or getting into clubs. But it’s good to have a backup if you’re carrying the original.

Explore on foot with caution

The Las Vegas Strip is 4.2 miles. While you can easily cover that distance on your morning run, it’s a lot more chaotic in the city. The streets are busy and full of life, and there’s an infinite number of eye-catching things that will keep you stopping in your tracks. So explore on foot with caution!

Stay on the Strip if you’re walking and take advantage of how packed it is to ensure you’re making the most of your time. Make sure you’re wearing comfortable shoes and plan ahead before deciding on your route!

No matter how much research you do, for the first-time visitor, Las Vegas will always be greater than you imagined. But it need not be overwhelming. With these tips, make sure that your Vegas experience will go smoothly.
