4 Tips for Hosting a Party or Event

May 31, 2021 by Jaime

Everyone loves a party. It’s a great time to unwind, reconnect with friends, and have a good laugh. So, whether it’s a raging party or a fancy soiree, your main goal is to ensure that you and your guests have a good time.

Admittedly, hosting a party or event can be stressful, as much planning goes into these things. It can be hard to keep up with everything you need to do to ensure your event goes hitch-free. For this reason, we have curated four tips to guide you when hosting your next party or event.

1. Maintain a reasonable budget.

img

The number one tip for hosting any kind of party or event is to have a budget. Every host feels obligated to give their guests the best party characterized by the best food menu, drinks, incredible decorations, and the perfect venue. Unfortunately, this type of thinking can drill holes in your wallet.

On that note, the smart thing to do is to set a clearly defined budget. Your budget is expected to be a guiding principle that’ll influence every other decision. From the type of event you want to host to the number of guests and meal plan.

For instance, if you’re planning a children’s party where lots of ice-cream will be served, a budget helps you decide if you can afford to rent an ice cream truck for the day. Alternatively, you can opt for a soft serve ice cream machine rental. A soft serve machine comes in handy if you’re on a low budget. These machines have a high performance, and they’re easy to set up.

2. Always pick a suitable theme.

A themed party is an instant mood lifter. Besides the fact that it gets people excited way before the event day, it’s also a great way to save you, the host, time, energy, and cash. However, this doesn’t mean you have to go over the top to make your dream theme come to life. There are easy ways to decide on a theme.

You can start by looking at the season. Is it a holiday celebration? If so, you can look around your house for extra supplies that may be lying around from previous parties. For example, if you have extra cocktail umbrellas, and it’s summertime, you can have a tropical theme party.

When picking a theme, remember not to make it solely about your preference—unless it’s your birthday party and you’re sure your guests won’t mind your choice. The reason is, while a theme can get some guests excited, it can also deter others from attending your event. So make sure you choose something people already have in their closet, or if you’re friends with like-minds, choose something you all fan about.

For instance, you can make your theme about colors or have a makeover theme, where you and all your friends take a break from flaunting your natural lashes and dress up with lush lash extensions. For some, this could be their first time using eyelash extensions, so your party will be a memorable time for them. Besides, an eyelash extension kit isn’t expensive, so everyone can afford to attend the party.

3. Build excitement weeks before the party.

img

The best parties have much more to do with the people’s energy in the room than whatever plans you have put in place. The point is, when planning a party or event, your focus should be on ensuring everyone comes in with the right energy. Likewise, they should leave with even more vibrant energy. One way to do this is to build the excitement.

Thanks to social media and the internet, it’s pretty easy to create an online presence and get people talking about an upcoming event. For instance, you can create a hashtag on Twitter so that guests can read and share conversations about the party. Alternatively, building a website is a more intimate way to keep the conversation going and document your party.

For instance, assuming you’re hosting a party to mark a parent’s golden jubilee. This is a remarkable milestone so you’ll want to document it in everyway possible. You can, for instance, create a WordPress blog using a VPS server (Virtual Private Server).

This type of cloud server provides you with dedicated resources to help you manage your website in a dedicated hosting environment scaled to suit your usage. Additionally, you don’t need to have any technical knowledge to get started. A reliable web hosting company will ensure a technical support team is ready to handle whatever downtime or issues you experience.

4. Set the mood with good music and fun decorations.

Now that you have your essentials ready, the next step is to set the mood. Clean your house, put up theme-appropriate decorations, create a playlist, or have a DJ on standby. Also, make sure your entire setup and seating are arranged in a way that’ll get people interacting.

A great way to engage your crowd is to assign someone to take charge of ‘connecting the dots.’ This person’s job will be to make sure no one feels lonely. Alternatively, prepare some icebreaker games that’ll make people loosen up and have a great time.

Hotels Post-Covid-19: Going the Extra Mile

May 5, 2021 by Jaime

As everyone is awaiting the end of the pandemic, and things are slowly getting back to normal, the travel industry knows that it will have to restart the machine, in a way that will make people feel secure. Otherwise, it will be hard to bring customers back in restaurants, museums, but even more so into hotels. That is why they will need to go that extra mile and here is how they will do it.

  • Refreshing the rooms and other Amenities

This will be difficult for some hotels, but if they haven’t done so already, they need to refresh their location with new professional hotel room accessories and revitalize their common spaces, such as the reception area, lounges and restaurants. Guests will be a lot more difficult than they used to be, as they may associate older accessories as more dangerous items, in regards to the coronavirus. However, the problem is 70% of the hotels are actually on a negative credit outlook. This does not bode well when it comes to financing renovations with the help of their creditors. Before the sanitary crisis started, 92% of the entities were showing a stable outlook (January 2020). That shows how hard the Covid-19 pandemic has hit the industry.

  • Rethink restaurants and café areas

One of the most common characteristics of hotels, generally speaking, was to offer a buffet-style meal, to their guests. After the sanitary crisis, this will be a hard sell to customers. In fact, it may not even be possible in some countries, depending on the new regulations which will be put in place. Cleanliness will become the most important attribute in hotels, and it may imply going as far as providing the cutlery inside sealed plastic envelopes, to ensure that they are fully sterile.

Menus are also something that needs to be reviewed. Passing them, from one customer to another, is definitely not the best way to go. In countries where restaurants remained opened (or at least partially), the QR-code menu has often become the norm. That way, the only thing the customer touches is its own mobile phone. Establishments with space may even think of rebuilding their room, by adding a small kitchen/dining corner. That would also give them a chance to gain back some of the customers they lost to Airbnb.

  • Obtain Cleaning Certificates

To gain their customers’ trust, hotels may need to put in place a cleaning certification. Naturally, this would have to come from a third-party operator, for people to place any confidence into the certificates. For large hotels, that part will most probably need to be handled by a new specialist, who will be hired especially for that task.

Things to Consider While Booking a Boutique Hotel in Florence, Italy

April 12, 2021 by Jaime

Among the many things to consider while planning your dream trip to Florence, Italy, finding and booking a truly luxury boutique hotel in the city should be near the top of your priority list.

There are so many things to plan for a perfect vacation or business trip in Florence, Italy. The city is an astonishing exhibition of natural and man-made attractions, enamoring its visitors with its brilliant combination of art, culture, delicacy, and mesmerizing landscapes. So, it’s obvious that the city would be bustling with many tourist facilities, including some high-end, boutique hotels.

Finding the Perfect Boutique Hotel in Florence

Finding the luxurious, boutique abode in Florence, Italy is no easy task. It’s not down to the lack of options, rather, the availability of too many of them is what creates the issues. When you choose one, you may still be pondering about another equally great option.

Thankfully though, not many get the recipe for a perfect luxury boutique hotel in Florence absolutely right. The elements of that recipe include:

Residence: A great Florentine hotel can not be housed in just about any building in Florence. Rather, it must be housed in an accommodation facility that offers a glimpse of history, an experience to live in the glorious past. A converted Byzantine tower certainly fits the bill.

Location: It’s all good to live in a historic building for a few days, but not so much if it’s located in a relatively inaccessible place. So, to be the best of the rest in Florence, the hotel must also be located in an exclusive location – something like in and around the city center.

View: Not every historic building comes with a great view, but some classy Florentine hotels certainly do. In fact, a Florentine hotel may even come with the glorious view of the Duomo and the Florence Cathedral, sometimes right from the comfy bed.

Decor: Old, Florentine buildings may be great to look at, but not as great to sleep in if not remodeled to the modern-day needs. The best hoteliers in Florence know that, and accordingly, tend to give their interior a designer makeover without damaging its historic charms.

Amenities: Another crucial part of the best boutique hotel in Florence is its plethora of amenities – 24/7 room service, parking space, fully-equipped gym, manicured lawns, etc. Add to that a couple of fine-dining restaurants and cafes, and you may not even want to leave your hotel for sightseeing.

As you can see, getting all of these ingredients right and then combining them into an oasis of classy, lavish, and homely living experience is not everyone’s cup of tea. Don’t worry though, as you just need to find a historic and well-renowned hotel near the city center of Florence.

Does it still seem like too much of a task? Here you can find your hotel near Duomo of Florence that we have already compared against the above-mentioned criteria. Here, instead, you can find other useful information about the city of Florence and its stunning surrounding area.
Happy booking!

All the Best Dog Stops for Your Road Trip Through California

March 26, 2021 by Jaime

During the last year, many people began getting feeling the wanderlust for travel, waiting for the national pandemic to finally come to an end and allow for vacations and adventures with their families and friends. Of course, being at home so much, dog lovers were fortunate to have their closest companions with them. Now is a great time to plan a trip with your best canine friend by your side! Here, we will look at some of the best stops for dog lovers on their California road trip, ensuring fun and excitement for both of you. If you are from another country and planning a road trip in California then you need to get an International Driver’s Permit.

Packing For a Dog-Friendly Road Adventure

img

No matter where you’re traveling in North America, if you’re taking your dog with you, what you pack is very important. Luckily, many manufacturers have pet lovers in mind and offer luggage and hiking or camping gear specially made for dogs. Although traveling with a young puppy can be tough, travel bags and, most importantly, a durable dog harness, can all be purchased for both small dogs or larger breeds.

A harness for dogs is especially crucial if you plan on going on walks, hikes, or want to explore cities and towns with your canine companion by your side. When you do your preliminary packing, be sure that the harness is comfortable for your dog’s size, as the best harness will be appropriately snug across the dog’s chest with adjustable points for security and safety. The best harnesses are lightweight but have a secure buckle for better control that won’t make your dog want to pull and hurt themselves.

In addition, hiking and camping necessities, such as rubber cups and bowls, are just as important, and your pup will need plenty of water when you’re out on the road! It also helps to bring along a good travel book with information on which parks and tourist areas are welcoming to pets.

Dogs and the Great Outdoors

Pet parents will be happy to learn that California is a very dog-friendly place! Many tourist locations are welcoming to canine companions, making it easy to plan a great vacation throughout the state with your whole family (puppy included). Although there are many hotels and restaurants that cater to dog owners, the great outdoors is a wonderful starting point for your pup. Many historic sites, such as Redwood National Park, Death Valley National Park, Yosemite National Park, and countless seaside ports and beaches have special accommodations for your four-legged friends.

Hiking and camping is a perfect idea if you have your pooch with you. Beginning by researching of California’s many gorgeous national parks is a wonderful place to start. At Death Valley National Park, not only are both Twenty Mule Team Canyon Road and Titus Canyon Road great road trails that your family will love for picture-taking purposes, but Stovepipe Wells Village, one of the beautiful lodging spots within Death Valley, is rustic, quaint, and welcomes dogs. Likewise, Death Valley Junction is another gorgeous photo opportunity, and pooches are welcome anywhere outdoors.

If you’re in Northern California, Redwood National Park’s most historic sites allow dogs within the campgrounds, certain beaches (they’re labeled as “dog friendly”), and numerous trails. If this is your first time visiting the redwoods, the park does allow pups but insist upon the famous “BARK” rules: Bag all pet waste, Always keep pets on their leash, Respect area wildlife, and Know where dogs aren’t permitted. However, your pup is allowed in most places! If national parks are up your alley, Yosemite National Park is another one of California’s most historic sites that are welcoming to pooches. Many of the park’s hiking and biking locations are pet-friendly.

Pooches and the Beach

No California adventure would be complete without a trip to the beach. After all those long car rides and backcountry camping, visiting one of California’s many pet-friendly beaches is a perfect cap for your road journey. As one fun suggestion, Huntington Beach even has its own dog park, the Huntington Dog Beach, which has its own scenic dunes and elevation level that’s a good fit for your canine companion to relax and unwind alongside you.

Of course, depending on the time of year, it can get very hot, so proper hydration is crucial for you and your dog. Even a strong dog needs to relax in the shade, which is better for the dog’s skin after hours in the sun, and it’s always best to check ahead of time with the visitor center regarding any restrictions.

Fun Gift Ideas for Everyone in the Family

March 12, 2021 by Jaime

Finding the perfect gift for people you love can be challenging but also a lot of fun. In taking into account a person’s interests, values, religious beliefs, and personal needs, you’ll put yourself in the position of becoming known as a fantastic gift-giver. For tips on what to consider when choosing the perfect gift for any family member, read on.

Atmospheric Gifts for the Homeowner

img

We all know that proud homeowner who spends all their extra money on home decor, lawn care, or doing anything they can to make their home more comfortable and appealing. In general, they love hosting special occasions, and visiting their home is usually a joy. At the same time, it could be intimidating to try and buy fabric to match their sleek living room upholstery, something as simple as smoke odor eliminator spray would give their home a fresh scent while handling other odor molecules that come from pets and visitors. A great way to tackle not only cigarette smoke but bathroom odors, too; an odor eliminator is the sort of gift a proud homeowner would both appreciate and use.

To make this practical gift a little more fun, you could think about giving it with a gift card to a favorite home decor store, diffuser, or solar lighting for the patio for those summer barbecues. Consider a theme for your gift that addresses all the senses. The odor remover will cover scent while lighting could be the vision. The hearing could be new speakers or earbuds to set the atmosphere, and touch could be a fluffy throw. The ideas are limitless when shopping for a proud homeowner. Thinking about gift wrapping it all up into a storage basket they can also use for their home, and your present will be a hit.

Spiritual Gifts for the Religious

img

For that religious or spiritual family member on your list, shopping can be easy. A simple Google search for religious gifts will point you in the direction of general gifts for every belief system. Consider smudge sticks, tarot cards, Christian baptism gifts and crosses, rosary beads, or even a book that runs through the belief systems of every major religion for a person who’s trying to make sense of God for themselves.

Like with the homeowner on your list, you could make up a gift basket, too. A basket filled with a cross necklace, a leather bible, a print with a favorite psalm, and more might be a fun way to support someone’s religion and values and is likely a gift you can’t get wrong if you know what they believe in.

Educational Gifts for the Financially Savvy

img

For that financial planner on your list who obsesses about things like smart ways to use your money or how to invest, the key to the perfect gift comes down to education. From books on the stock market and trading to entrepreneurship and even educational software products that will help them budget for both the short and long term, it’s easy to find a great gift that a financially savvy person will love. If you’re still not sure, consider a leather wallet. Practical and something they can use in the long run, they may appreciate it as much as a book on mutual funds.

Self-Care Gifts for All

img

Any gift that encourages someone to invest in themselves is always a good idea. Consider CBD products, candles, gift cards to the day spa, or products that encourage relaxation like a favorite book or movie and your recipient is sure to be happy with what you’ve picked.

The perfect gift doesn’t have to cost a lot of money. More important than how much you spend is that you choose products and items your recipient can make good use of. Putting a little extra thought and research into the perfect gift will go a long way in assuring your loved one will enjoy what you’ve picked out for them.

When shopping for a gift, don’t forget about your financial situation. Your loved one wouldn’t want you to get in debt over a Christmas gift, keepsake gift, or gift for any occasion. While it’s okay to splurge on someone you love, be sure to do what you can to save money along the way with simple Google searches for coupons and codes where you can. The last thing to do when picking out that perfect gift is to save the receipt just in case. In the meanwhile, trust your instincts and have a great time shopping! Half of the fun is in the experience.
