Why Do Travellers Fall In Love With Singapore?

April 30, 2018 by Jaime

Our planet is blessed with many spectacular locations to visit, but few have more attraction for travelers than the incredible city of Singapore.

In fact, many people who visit the city choose to live there. Singapore has a sizeable expat community, including many people who settle there with their partner or their family. That isn’t surprising when you consider the city’s reputation as a family-friendly place to live. Few places on earth combine such an excellent infrastructure with a booming economy and convenient travel links, and for families, the international schools in Singapore are ideal for expat children. At international schools the lessons are conducted in English and they combine high academic standards with cultural diversity that is so valuable to a child’s personal development.

Singapore is perhaps best known for its incredible architecture. The city contains some of the world’s most spectacular buildings. Planners and architects have made the most of the limited building space to produce some truly ingenious and futuristic structures that make the Singapore skyline a must-see for travelers to Asia.

For example, the views from the Sky Deck at the top of the three-tower Marina Bay Sands hotel across the city are simply stunning. Many travelers also enjoy the panoramic views offered by the 63rd story 1-Altitude bar, the highest alfresco bar in the world.

Considering its reputation as a futuristic city, travelers are often surprised by the amount of greenery on display in Singapore; in fact, it has been called ‘The Garden City’. Planners and designers have taken great trouble to incorporate gardens and green areas into the layout and the result is a series of parks, gardens and even jungle walks. Gardens by the Bay, with its pair of huge bio-domes, is a perfect example of how the ingenuity of planners has helped to cleverly combine city and nature.

Travelers who enjoy experiencing diverse cultures love Singapore. It has everything, from Chinatown and Little India areas to Arab Street, where visitors can soak up Middle Eastern Culture. With so many cultures in such a relatively small area, it is a truly vibrant place to visit and is an ideal location for teaching your children about different ways of life.

And then there’s the food! The wide array of cuisines in Singapore make it a gastronome’s delight! Wander through the main tourist area in the Marina Bay district and you will come across restaurants and outlets serving genuine Thai, Chinese, Singapore, Lebanese, Turkish or Indian food. There is a bewildering range of tastes and cooking styles to sample.

Singapore isn’t just a beautiful and fascinating tourist destination; it is also a working city with the infrastructure, transport links and top-quality education opportunities that has led many ex-pats to make it home for themselves and their families. Any trip to Asia is not complete without spending some time in this remarkable city and soaking up its unique combination of futuristic architecture, environmentally friendly lay-out and vibrant culture.

How Custom Car Covers Protect Your Rugged Off-Road Vehicle

March 17, 2018 by Jaime

If you love to go off-roading in your rugged car or truck, you know how important it is to take care of your vehicle and bike. Off-roading puts a little more stress on your car and bike tires as well as the exterior. Off-roaders who don’t give their vehicles enough attention can end up with a car that doesn’t perform, or worse, a complete breakdown. Keeping your car or truck in peak condition for off-roading adventures means you’ll have to provide a protective storage solution, such as car and truck covers, when it’s parked. Here are some ways the best car covers can help protect your vehicle during the down times.

Trees and Animals

A parked car that sits in a shady spot by a tree in your neighborhood may seem like it’s protected from the elements. In reality, trees can drop sap, acorns and other debris onto your off-road vehicle and do serious damage. Additionally, birds and small animals may be contributing even more damage. The best car covers can eliminate this possibility.

Dings and Dents

Car and truck covers can also keep your vehicle from getting those small dings and dents that always seem to happen when it’s parked. Neighbors parking too close or kids playing near your vehicle don’t have to stress you out when it’s properly covered.

Thieves and Vandals

An off-road vehicle can sometimes attract the wrong attention. Car thieves and vandals may target a car that looks like it’s ready to ride through the mud. Covering your car can keep it hidden away from potential criminals.

Precipitation and Sun

The last type of protection a car cover can give you is an additional layer between your vehicle and the sun and precipitation. Rain, snow, sleet and hail can instantly damage the exterior sheen of your car. Likewise, the sun’s harmful rays can lead to the paint color fading over time.

At California Car Cover, you can get a custom car cover for your off-road vehicle. This way, you can keep it protected and pristine for your next big adventure.

Keeping Your Prized Bike In Tip Top Condition

January 29, 2018 by Jaime

Just like any expensive items, after having invested your money in a good quality beach cruiser bike, you would want to take good care of your bike. You would want to keep it in tip top condition for you to enjoy riding it for many years to come.

Just like a car being an expensive toy to some men, an expensive beach cruiser bike men’s best friend needs some basic maintenance after your beach ride.

  • First, hose down the whole cruiser with water.
  • Mix the shampoo or liquid soap with water in a bucket.
  • Use a sponge or an old towel to wash the entire cruiser with the diluted shampoo or soap.
  • Make sure to wash the entire bike, including the cables.
  • You might need an old toothbrush to dislodge any caked dirt or mud from the chain and the gears.
  • Again, hose the entire bike including the chain and the gears to wash off all the shampoo.
  • To remove any residual dirt in between the links and teeth, spray with a degreaser. Leave for a few minutes and remove the dirt with a dry cloth.
  • After drying the chain, apply and work the lubricant into the link.
  • If you notice some rust on the chain, a little bit of WD40 could easily remove the rust.
  • Make sure the whole bike is thoroughly wiped dry to prevent rust forming on the metal parts.

If you have been riding the same bike from your teenage years, it is about time to upgrade to a bicycle for men. Bikes are divided into mountain bikes, road bikes, hybrid bikes, and cruisers. If you are looking for a bike to ride on rugged or off-road terrains, then you will need to get a mountain bike. A road bike is used for the normal paved roads and it is built for speed. A hybrid bike can be used both as a mountain bike and a road bike. It is not as rugged as the mountain bike but it is good for commuting. A cruiser bike is used for cruising and casual biking. You usually see people cruising on these cruiser bikes on the boardwalks along the beaches. Regardless of your biking needs, they are a perfect method of transportation and a great use of exercise. You will easily and effectively be able to get around from point a to b and will make your trip a success.

You can check out the different types of bikes and compare the prices of the different bike websites. Websites such as the sixthreezero.com features different types of bikes for men and women. You can easily find a good quality bike to suit your style and your preferences within your budget.

A Short Guide On How to Make Your Trip a Success

December 28, 2017 by Jaime

Books have been written about what to see and do when visiting New York City. There is no way that a short article can do justice to the topic without taking a few shortcuts.

The first is we aren’t going to talk about food. Everyone’s tastes are different and where one person would be happy with a hot dog from a cart on Wall Street, another might only be satisfied with a Delmonico at the restaurant at the top of One World Trade Center. Individual tastes lead to independent choices and while that hot dog might cost $5, the steak is certainly going to cost upwards of $100.

The second is lodging. I have found it considerably less expensive to stay in Brooklyn or Long Island and catch the subway into Manhattan for sightseeing, but the inconvenience of riding into the city is more than some visitors are willing to put up with. Stay where you can afford, but for those of us on a budget, New York’s mass transit system makes getting into the city a simple and (usually) pleasant experience.

Finally, we are not going to discuss theater. I know that there are many visitors to New York that go just for the shows, but that falls into a completely different category. Part of the experience is eating and lodging near Broadway to soak up the atmosphere and get in touch with the city’s mood. For casual visitors and most tourists, mood isn’t why we visit New York.

Why are you going?

The first time you visit New York City, it is easy to get overwhelmed with everything that you can see and do. You can take in one or two or a dozen museums or art galleries. Visit iconic landmarks reflective of the American spirit. Research your family’s arrival in the United States or hundreds of other activities.

Unless you want to get overwhelmed by the city, it is best to plan your itinerary prior to going. Although not particularly spontaneous, planning your first trip can ensure you see the sites that are important to you while still not getting dazed by the grandeur of New York.

Plan small. Keep your schedule light but hit the most important sites for you. Don’t try to do too many things and give yourself time to explore and make stops along the way to interesting sites that aren’t in the guide books.

Getting around

New York can be challenging to navigate even for natives. For visitors, the traffic and sheer mass of people can make driving hellish. My advice is to leave the car at the hotel and grab the subway or bus into the city. Once there, get a day (or two-day or weekly) pass to one of the hop-on/hop-off bus tours – check out the TopView Sightseeing Homepage for prices and schedules – and let them get you around town.

A day pass will cost less than taxi fare in the city and you can catch the buses on your schedule. They really are the easiest, most cost-effective way to get around Manhattan.

Plan a return trip

Unless you are planning on staying for a few years, you won’t be able to see everything in one trip that you want to. There are over a hundred museums in New York City and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, for example, currently has over two million pieces of art in its permanent collection. Hosting over seven million visitors in 2016, this one museum could take up an entire trip to New York City.

By preparing for a return trip, you can prioritize what you want to see and do without losing out on other incredible tourist attractions. New York City is definitely one of the top destinations that you have to see!
